WEDNESDAY"S HODGEPODGE

It is Tuesday and once again I'm planning to submit my Hodgepodge answers to Joyce at http://joyce-fromthissideofthepond.blogspot.com/

1. Have you ever been on a real sleigh ride? How about the warm weather version - a carriage ride?
Answer:  The closest was a carriage ride in Central Park in New York City.

2. What's your policy on 'chain mail'...you know, the emails you receive that are often some sort of poem/blessing/good wish that ask you to send it on to 10 or 12 friends? Do you delete without opening, read and trash, read and trash and then worry you won't be blessed/lucky/protected? Do you delete the sender from your contacts or just go ahead and send the love onward?

Answer:  Delete them a.s.a.p.

3. Who is your favorite character in any of the Christmas movies and why?
Answer:  Jimmy Stewart because, why, he's Jimmy Stewart. But of course!

4. Share a favorite quote.
Answer:  "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend.  Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."  Groucho Marx

5. What's your favorite holiday scent?

Answer: Fir trees, preferably growing out in the wild.

6. Does the Christmas season stress you out? In what way?

Answer:  Yes.  In every way possible.

7. What's the best thing about your life right now?

Answer:  I am so in love with my husband and he with me.  We just marvel at how God has blessed us both with one another.  It was a match made in heaven, for sure.  And through the years (going on 11 now) it keeps growing stronger and stronger.  I don't think either of us would know what to do without one another.  I am truly blessed.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Answer:  Just heard the roads from Glasgow to Edinburgh are closed.  I booked a trip there for a surprise Christmas gift to my hubby and we leave Friday.  We have a concert Friday evening and then drive to Edinburg for three days to visit friends.  Please pray the roads are drivable for us and that our plane actually takes off Friday!!

Headbang, thanks for alerting me to give credit to the quote. I knew it was Groucho Marx, but neglected to include his name. Good on ya, mate!

Joyce, I sent you an email & plan to blog about the topic tomorrow.

Courtney, we will be passing in the air! Italy should be much more clement. Have fun!

Jill, yes, as you may know it was a Groucho Marx quote. I used to have it on the wall in my classroom. My high school students used to get a giggle from it.
