BACK HOME IN BAVARIA

It has been a long hiatus.  Practically three months of American spring and summer, but I am back in Bavaria again.  It was a whirlwind May as we scurried to get the movers scheduled and leave our apartment in Pasing-Obermenzing and move to our things to Fürstenreid.  We were lucky and moved within a week of our scheduled flight for the U.S.

At the moment, I am sitting in my living room while the sun gently warms and eases my back and summer breezes fill the room.  Our new apartment in Fürstenreid is everything I had ever imagined it could be.  The outdoors has become my indoors!  There are windows that open wide flanking the whole southerly wall allowing sunlight to drench our home. This is big for me as I need lots of bright sunlight in my home.    A large and generous glass door onto the balcony overlooks a peaceful green garden below (see photo above).  We can hear soft trickles of water as the fountain below spills over into the garden pond.  Faint traces of sweet rose scents drift up to our first story flat; likely from all of the delightful varieties of roses that planted directly below.  Greenery is everywhere from trellises, vines, and trees. We are covered with gardens on every level spilling over with bougenvilla, azaleas and rhododendron. The graceful weeping willow in front of our balcony offers welcome shade and privacy.

I have started to plant many indoor plants so that will be an  effortless continuation of the nature outside brought here into the inside.  I love this moment, this time, this place.  We have created a haven for us to escape the outside world and to bathe in the sunshine and beauty of nature.

Ahhh.... Time to relax and enjoy what we have made.
